We have had the best results with a simple aftercare method making it easier for everyone!
Day 1: 30 minutes after your appointment, if your brows are oozing plasma and/or blood after the procedure, take a tissue or a wet Q-tip and gently blot the excess every two hours until bedtime. This will prevent a thick scab from forming.
**Before going to bed, gently rub the soap between your fingers to create bubbles. In a circular motion, rub the bubbles onto your new brows then splash rinse with lukewarm water. Once you have completely rinsed off the bubbles, pat dry with a clean towel or a tissue. Wait till your brows are dry before applying a small amount of aftercare cream throughout your brows.
Day 2-10: Repeat this washing process twice a day (morning and night). If you have dry-normal skin, apply aftercare cream throughout the day as needed. If you have oily skin, apply an aftercare cream only after washing. *Only apply a very thin layer, “less is always more”.
Within the first week, you will notice your brows will start to flake/scab off. Do NOT pick or rub your brows. The flaking is normal and must fall off on its own or you will risk removing pigment and possibly scarring.
Do not get the brows wet other than when washing. Do not soak your new brows in the bath, pool, or hot tub, and avoid hot, steamy showers. For 2-3 weeks, avoid swimming in salt water, chlorinated pools, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms, or sun tanning.
Do not use any other products on your new brows other than soap and aftercare cream. Avoid shampoos, any other soaps, or other cleansers on the treated area for the first 7 days as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilize in the dermis layer of your skin.
Do not sweat for 8-10 days after your procedure; this means no exercising. (If you choose to do so, it’s at your own risk)
Do not expose new brows to direct sunlight, you may use sunscreen (after fully healed) to avoid fading from the sun.
Do not apply makeup to the brow area during the healing process, you may use makeup after it is fully healed.
Do not sleep on your face, try to sleep on your back.
Do not touch, rub, pick, or scratch your brows after your appointment and during your healing process.
Do not bleach, tint, or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.
Do not thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area for 10-14 days after appointment.
After 4 weeks, your brows will be fully healed. Don’t forget to book your finishing touch-up between 4-8 weeks from your initial appointment to avoid additional charges. If there are any changes or additions that need to be made, please consult with me at your touch-up appointment and we can adjust to your desire!
It is not the artists’ responsibility to book your touch-up. Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration. To avoid that, apply sunscreen on your brows once fully healed and wear hats for further protection.
If you are coming in contact with a laser (e.g. laser hair removal) after your brows have healed, please inform your laser technician. Continue at your own discretion as laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the treated area.
